Mono Mondays: Amphiptere, Part Two
Share
On Mondays, we like to support our resident artist, Mono! They're an up-and-coming scribbler of things dark and weird, and we consider ourselves lucky to have leeched onto— er, formed a mutually beneficial relationship with them. You can watch Mono hard at work creating various pieces on their YouTube channel. For those who don't feel like watching digital paint getting splashed around, we'll be showcasing a different piece of theirs right here every Monday.
This week, we're taking a second look at the legless dragon Mono drew last week.

As can be seen, some changes have been made. We now get a much more menacing view of the amphiptere, closing on the viewer rapidly as it opens its maw to unleash a blast of cold and reveal its double row of teeth. Mono enjoyed most particularly the tiny details of this version, including the forked tongue, the vaguely runic writing near the center (asked what it means, Mono said that if you look closely, you'll be able to make out "Ice is cold"), and the ouroboric shapes in the magical sigil producing the cold.
What will the amphiptere look like the next time Mono approaches this particular subject? Given the implied timeline, a third picture will likely be drawn with the viewpoint somewhere in the dragon's intestinal tract.
