Mono Mondays: "Dotted Fire Jelly"
Share
On Mondays, we like to support our resident artist, Mono! They're an up-and-coming scribbler of things dark and weird, and we consider ourselves lucky to have leeched onto— er, formed a mutually beneficial relationship with them. You can watch Mono hard at work creating various pieces on their YouTube channel. For those who don't feel like watching digital paint getting splashed around, we'll be showcasing a different piece of theirs right here every Monday.
This week's work: "Dotted Fire Jelly"

Mono, asked what they thought of this particular piece, wanted everyone to know that the little white dots took approximately forever. The "Dotted Fire Jelly" is so named because it prominently features one of Mono's more prominent subjects: weird and visually striking jellyfish. Note the bright, flowing oral arms, surrounded by the tentacles which most associate jellyfish with. Now imagine seeing one of these things bobbing in the dark of the ocean... and remember that in the wild, the more brightly colored the creature, the more dangerous it is.
