Mono Mondays: Fever Sight
Share
On Mondays, we like to support our resident artist, Mono! They're an up-and-coming scribbler of things dark and weird, and we consider ourselves lucky to have leeched onto— er, formed a mutually beneficial relationship with them. You can watch Mono hard at work creating various pieces on their YouTube channel. For those who don't feel like watching digital paint getting splashed around, we'll be showcasing a different piece of theirs right here every Monday.
This week, we see the result of cold medicine on an artist's mind.

Mono came down with a cold over the weekend, and they're still bedridden. Normally, we'd have postponed Mono Monday, because we don't believe in making our resident artist work themselves to death for our sake. However, about an hour before posting this, we received a message. Apparently, after a strong dose of cold medicine and a nap, Mono was "inspired."
Again, Mono is currently sick and medicated, so this next bit is going to be a bit weird. According to them, those aren't mildly creepy flowers growing in a monochromatic forest. Those are a magical variety of security cameras, set in place by creatures like The Slime King. They're ambulatory, but only move when someone wanders into their home ("The Whispering Woods") and becomes lost. When that happens, they creep ever closer...
And then guide you home to your village. If they're feeling generous, they'll also bless your crops before they go, and as a result, the villages nearest the woods treat them as though they're some kind of one-eyed, flowery angels.
Um. Stay healthy, folks.
