Mono Mondays: Physical Art, Part One
Share
On Mondays, we like to support our resident artist, Mono! They're an up-and-coming scribbler of things dark and weird, and we consider ourselves lucky to have leeched onto— er, formed a mutually beneficial relationship with them. You can watch Mono hard at work creating various pieces on their YouTube channel. For those who don't feel like watching digital paint getting splashed around, we'll be showcasing a different piece of theirs right here every Monday.
This week, we're showcasing some physical art!

Do you know those scratch art kits, with the colorful paper under a layer of black that you can scratch away? This particular flower was made using a similar process: first, markers and pastels, then paint mixed with soap to make the black layer, and then artfully removing the black with a toothpick. "I had black paint under my fingernails for days," Mono complains. Still, "I like how it came out and it's a cool concept." Mono made another scratch painting as well, but that one will have to wait until next week.
