Mono Mondays: The Imposter

Mono Mondays: The Imposter

On Mondays, we like to support our resident artist, Mono!  They're an up-and-coming scribbler of things dark and weird, and we consider ourselves lucky to have leeched onto— er, formed a mutually beneficial relationship with them.  You can watch Mono hard at work creating various pieces on their YouTube channel.  For those who don't feel like watching digital paint getting splashed around, we'll be showcasing a different piece of theirs right here every Monday.

This week, we're looking at a clever guise.

We mentioned a while back that the Slime King was exploring the human lands.  Since we last checked in with him, the Slime King has successfully enrolled in a magical school, masquerading as a young man from the North.  He believes his disguise is more or less flawless.  In Mono's estimation, it is rather less so, especially regarding the eyes (which don't really track anything, since the Slime King doesn't use eyes to "see") and the fingers, which others have remarked on and which he has explained away as having an unusual shape due to body enhancement.

Pictured is the Slime King's current appearance, trying to appear calm.  He is really quite excited; he's about to try swinging a sword for the first time.  He's heard rumors that the most legendary swords could cut the moons from the sky.  He can't wait to see if he can manage it himself!

...He probably can't.  His specialty is magic, not physical effort.  Still, keep an eye upward, just in case.
